Installing GraphoOS
macOS (Apple Silicon)
Download GraphoOS-macos.dmg from the downloads page
and drag GraphoOS to Applications. The build is signed ad hoc, not with an
Apple certificate yet, so the first launch needs a right-click → Open
(or System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway), and macOS keeps
the app from reading Desktop, Documents and Downloads until you allow it
there.
Data (settings, plugins, grammars, logs) lives in
~/Library/Application Support/dev.graphoos.GraphoOS-Nightly/ for the
nightly and …-Stable/ for releases.
The log in logs/ keeps what happened and what went wrong, ten days of
it. To chase something that needs more, start the editor with
GRAPHOOS_LOG_LEVEL=debug, which also records everything the language
servers say — tens of megabytes an hour, so it is not the default.
Linux, Windows, Intel Macs
There are no packages yet: build from source, which takes a Rust toolchain and about ten minutes — see building from source. Homebrew, winget, Flathub, AUR and the rest are on the roadmap (phase 3).
Updating
The editor checks the releases of Empoorio/graphoos at start and offers
the update when there is one.
Uninstalling
Delete the application and the data directory above.
